Barbados is often referred to as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean. The Festival has given birth to a series of events, or better yet – culinary and beverage experiences – designed to tantalize the taste buds, while offering a variety of other colourful and flavourful experiences to stimulate the other senses as well.
The Crop Over Season is a month long celebration from June until August, With origins traced back to 1780, historically it was a celebration of the ending of sugar cane season when Barbados was at the height of it's global dominance of sugar production.
Through out the month long celebration there are a number of events which highlight music, culture and the talents of local artists.
For a fun filled afternoon where music and culture meet world class horse racing head to the races at the Garrison Savannah. Experience fun for the whole family with the electric vibes of race day with street food, drinks and sweet treats on sale.
Horse racing has been an integral part of the social and sporting scene in Barbados since 1845 and is a much loved pass time for both locals and visitors alike. Organised by The Barbados Turf Club races take place throughout the year but the pinnacle of the racing schedule is the annual Sandy Lane Gold Cup.
